TENERIFE PHOENIX has gained both wins in handicap company at Sunderland, and in truth she probably needs to brush up her trapping in regulation contests. That said she’s still unexposed and this is only her second go in A4 company, so there’s cause for optimism with her best efforts reading well in the context of this race.

ZARI BALLY (Trap 5) - 15:47 Sunderland

The A2 affair at 15.47 is a tightly-knit affair on our ratings, but ZARI BALLY has form in A1 company and though beaten four lengths last week, he bumped into a transformed rival. It’s unlikely that scenario will play out again and he certainly doesn’t have to lead up to win over this 450m trip.

ROCKFOREST HUGO (Trap 3) - 18:22 Sheffield

There’s good-quality action on Sheffield’s evening RPGTV card, with ROCKFOREST HUGO taken to gain compensation for a shock defeat last week in the 18.22. Barrie Draper’s youngster takes on a few unknown quantities, but he has progressed nicely since his transfer from Ireland and is an Open winner in waiting.
