Best Bets: Thursday 29 August

We pick out our three best bets from Newcastle and Sheffield on Thursday.
VIKING ALEXANDRA (Trap 3) in the 14.08 at Sheffield
VIKING ALEXANDRA's (Trap 3) style of running means she will always be reliant on locuk-in-running but she's clearly a bitch arriving in good order, highlighted by her head second over C&D on her most recent start from a most unpromising position. It's fair to say this afternoon's A7 affair is not a strong one by any means and we're hopeful Danny Gomersall's bitch can come home in front.
HEADFORD OSCAR (Trap 3) in the 18.39 at Newcastle
Following a lengthy spell on the side-lines, HEADFORD OSCAR (Trap 3) has been relatively slow to gather momentum, yet in truth the son of Tyrur Big Mike has faced some sterner assignments and this looks a good opening. Despite things going wrong early, his latest fourth-placed performance on the clock reads well in this contest and a much better showing here would come as no surprise.
BELLEBOB ZURI (Trap 4) in the 18.55 at Newcastle
BELLEBOB ZURI (Trap 4, 18.55) was 2 ½ lengths behind re-opposing Pond Ricardo when the pair met over C&D on their most recent outing. However, the former had his chance compromised with second crowding (ultimately losing his handy position). By our estimations, the Doncaster raider has a better make-up to operate from on this occasion and we're willing to side with the son of Romford Legend Adageo Bob to come out on top.
