BROLLY (Trap 3, 12.28) has found winning all that easy in recent months but there’s no doubt he’s a pacey sort granted racing room, that he displayed in a sprint trial on the comeback trail last month. Better with each start in competitive action since, he dropped a major hint his turn is imminent when going down by ½ length in this class 7 days ago. Not reliant on an early lead, Joy Andrews’ charge should soon be up with the pace judged on sectionals and can deservedly regain the winning thread.

Pattys Kalamazoo (Trap 1) - 12.58 Sheffield

We stick at Sheffield for our second smartplay, a D3 contest over the 280-metre distance with PATTYS KALAMAZOO (Trap 1, 12.58) looking to hold solid claims of adding to her tally from the red jacket. Recent efforts have been marred by trouble-in-running in the main but the daughter of Laughill Blake is easily one of the classier operators in this line-up (twice successful at D2 level) and if holding her rails pitch early, she can assert off the second bend and take leading honours.

Bush House (Trap 3) - 13.13 Sheffield

Our final selection on Sheffield’s early fixture comes at 13.13 and in our book BUSH HOUSE (Trap 3) is well worth supporting to get back to winning ways. Arriving on a losing run of seven, this afternoon’s contest is his easiest assignment for a while and, with a clear run around bends 1 & 2, he can stamp his class on proceedings and prove too strong.
