Best Bets: Thursday 12 September

We pick out our three best bets from Sheffield and Newcastle on Thursday.
CORGRIGG SAOIRSE (Trap 2) in the 16:07 at Sheffield
CORGRIGG SAOIRSE will require luck-in-running, particularly from the boxes considering he’s never been the quickest away. However on the balance of his Irish form, the grader has taken a real chance in placing him in A6 for his first start on these shores. Martin Cutler’s charge is best not judged on his second C&D trial, yet his first reads well on the clock in the context of this race and he can come fast and late.
INCA BANDIT (Trap 6) in the 17:56 at Sheffield
Remaining at Sheffield, INCA BANDIT has essentially paid the price for a facile victory in this grade back in July, faced with some stern assignments of late, Phil Barlow’s charge has largely struggled to make an impact. However, the grader has definitely eased the pressure for all he remains in the same grade and it would come as no surprise to see him strike fast and late.
SHARPYS PLUTO (Trap 3) in the 19:09 at Newcastle
SHARPYS PLUTO looked ill at ease making his first competitive start around Newcastle last week, and with that in mind he was deserving of maximum credit in coming out victorious on the night. The look around should not have been wasted on the Sheffield raider and he can be expected to improve, so we’re hopeful he may be able to confirm placings with Pond Natalya, for all that she’s a high-class operator in her own right.
