Best Bets: Sunday 31 December

SAVANA HEROSS (Trap 4) - 14:23 Towcester

SAVANA HEROSS was most impressive when scoring over six bends at Nottingham/Hove and, in truth, he can have his latest effort at the latter-named track overlooked, in a promising position before severe crowding put paid to his chance two weeks ago. A classy sort with a style well served to the demands of Towcester, this rates a good opportunity for him to quickly get back on track with the return to a middle draw also more favourable.

CHARMING GIRL (Trap 4) - 15:38 Towcester

CHARMING GIRL is fancied to prove tough to contain in the Towcester Racecourse Standard having returned from a short break in rude health. Blasting clear from the traps when registering yet another C&D success on Christmas Eve, it’s feasible to think she can show her rivals a clean pair of heels from lid rise again and Patrick Janssens’ bitch can come out on top again in this groove.

MARLFIELD SONIC (Trap 4) - 16:38 Towcester

Having posted a good effort without being seen to very best effect last time, MARLFIELD SONIC is fancied to make a bold bid in the final race on the card. Only an April 22’ whelp, he encouragingly trapped better than has often been the case on that occasion and, given he retains more potential than this afternoon’s rivals, he should be able to pass this test with a clear run.
