We pick out our best bets from Sheffield and Crayford on Saturday.
Cnoc Royal (Trap 2) - 20:44 Sheffield
Following a shock success in this grade 3 starts back (won at 12/1) CNOC ROYAL (Trap 2, 20.44) hasn’t had the rub of the green and, to his credit did well to get within 2 lengths of an upwardly-mobile youngster because mid-race trouble 13 days ago. Tonight’s affair is lacking in unexposed types and granted a decent exit from the boxes we’re hopeful Josh Fitton’s charge can come out on top.
Teecee Dame (Trap 1) - 21:09 Crayford
Over at Crayford TEECEE DAME (Trap 1) is fancied to double her career tally when she lines up in the Greens Greyhound Stakes at 21.09. A winner over 540 metres here last month, tonight’s contest could hardly be described as tough, particularly for an open class event and with the step up to 714 metres well worth exploring on balance, we’re expecting the Harlow raider to make a bold bid.
Lemon Rodney (Trap 6) - 21:36 Sheffield
Following a recent track switch, Chris Aker’s has brought a strong kennel of greyhounds over to Sheffield including LEMON RODNEY (Trap 6) who is fancied to land the A1 at 21.36. Far from disgraced in a pair of C&D opens of late, this ease in class is an obvious plus and a clear run around bends 1 & 2 can see him prove too strong for these.
