Best Bets: Monday 23 September

We pick out our three best bets from Sheffield and Nottingham on Monday.
PIEMANS DAISY (Trap 3) in the 17:22 at Sheffield
PIEMANS DAISY was unable to justify sustained market support when runner-up in this grade of A7, yet in her defence she was beaten in a fast time for the grade. Crucially this afternoon, she rates the likeliest leader from the white jacket and, if getting on the bunny, she could prove tough to peg back given improvement rates a distinct possibility.
NEWINN NIDGE (Trap 5) in the 21:06 at Nottingham
We step up in class for our final two selections with NEWINN NIDGE fancied to make the breakthrough into open class. The Belle Vue raider was far from disgraced when third in a C&D event last time and in a race lacking depth, he may well be able to boss matters from lid rise.
SMALL BUT DEADLY (Trap 1) in the 21:22 at Nottingham
SMALL BUT DEADLY has really established himself as a leading open racer on the Northern circuit (boasts an excellent C&D record) and he is fancied to take full advantage of a rails draw and strike again. A fairly reliable trapper, Pat Rosney’s charge isn’t reliant on an early lead and he can turn the screw from halfway.
