Best Bets: Monday 16 September

We pick out our three best bets from Sheffield and Nottingham on Monday.
GEELO CASSIE (Trap 6) in the 14:47 at Sheffield
GEELO CASSIE finds 500 metres at the limit of her stamina, yet what she lacks in that department she makes up for with useful early pace and taking a relatively quick class drop, Troy Bedford’s charge may well be ready to strike again. A facile scorer in this grade three starts back, the daughter of Ballymac Vic has shaped as if still in good form subsequently and we’re hopeful of another bold front-running bid.
PIEMANS DAISY (Trap 3) in the 17:06 at Sheffield
PIEMANS DAISY was steadily progressive, admittedly in low-grade sprint contests and whilst yet to hit full stride over the 500-metre trip there is still plenty of time. A January 18’ whelp, the daughter of David Bale had her chance hindered by early crowding in A6 grade last time. The grader has relinquished his grip on the back of that effort and in a race lacking depth, Lisa Stephenson’s charge is fancied to strike.
LOCNAMON MIKE (Trap 5) in the 20:08 at Nottingham
LOCNAMON MIKE is best known for his exploits over six bends, yet to his credit, he’s a versatile sort with winning form over four bends and we’re hopeful he can capitalise having his first foray in to graded company. The son of Zero Ten boasted a pretty slick 30.22 when third on his latest start in open class and a repeat here should see him firmly in the mix.
