Best Bets: Friday November 9

We pick out the three best bets from Romford on Friday.
Calzaghe Boyo (Trap 3) - Romford 18:27
The lack of course knowledge is always a concern, but Calzaghe Boyo (Trap 3, 18:27) should be ideally suited to this venue judged on his exploits at home track Newcastle. Ted Soppitt’s son of Laughill Blake has early pace in abundance and has found the tough 480 metre circuit taxing his stamina on occasions. This track is a test of speed which clearly suits ideally and, in a race lacking a great deal of depth, he can come out on top at 18:27.
Argentina (Trap 6) - Romford 19:03
The opening heats of the Romford Puppy Cup also feature and Heat 2 rates a good opportunity for Argentina (Trap 6, 19:03) to continue a sustained spell of excellent form. Kev Hutton’s charge has taken like a duck to water at this venue, boasting a 100% record whilst highlighting his versatility when coming from behind last time. Usually a fast breaker, he could be difficult to dislodge if getting loose out wide early doors.
Droopys Noodle (Trap 6) - Romford 19:17
Heat 3 takes centre stage at 19:17 and Droopys Noodle (Trap 6) gets our vote to come out on top with scope for even further improvement. A well-bred individual, his qualifying exploits at Crayford suggested he was a well-above average pup and he has impressed on the clock in landing two of his three starts over C&D to date. He comes out top from a ratings perspective and holds fine claims of grabbing a front-rank position out wide, so we’re hopeful of a very bold showing.
