Best Bets: Friday 9 August

We pick out our best bets from three different venues on Friday evening.
SPORTING GIGI (Trap 6) in the 17:37 at Monmore
SPORTING GIGI hasn’t been over the standard 480-metre trip for some time, yet he arrives here having posted a more than respectable six-bend success in S2 grade latest, scoring by three and three quarter lengths. A solid strike rate for a grader, the return to A5 will aid his cause in Monmore's 17:37 contest, and he can come out on top granted a clear run out wide.
HONOUR RUBY (Trap 6) in the 19:26 at Nottingham
HONOUR RUBY is well-established in this grade and, on the back of a losing run, it may be that Adrian McPherson’s bitch is ready to resume winning ways in Nottingham's A7 at 19:26. The daughter of Lemon Pumba highlighted her turn may not be far away with a strong finishing second over C&D last week, that despite being crowded at the start, and a clear passage tonight will see her play a leading role.
PIEMANS ASPRILLA (Trap 3) in the 19:33 at Romford
A missed break over Romford’s standard 400-metre trip can often prove costly, as PIEMANS ASPRILLA found out seven days ago, and it was to his credit that David Mullins’ charge was noted keeping on to take a respectable second. The son of Rio Quattro is capable of a much sharper break, as he has proved previously, and with sound claims on expected final time, we’re hopeful he will be seen in a much better light in the 19:33 contest at Romford.
