Goldies Perryman (Trap 6) - 19.18 Romford

Our first smartplay selection comes in heat three of the Coral Champion Stakes and GOLDIES PERRYMAN (Trap 6, 19.18), who has progressed with each start around the Essex venue, is fancied to have no issues with the draw in stripes and come out on top. He surprised a few with a 12/1 success last week but boasts definite potential for better still over this intermediate 6-bend distance, not least being only an October 19’ whelp. Getting handy again out wide is distinctly possible and he may well avoid trouble inside on the run up and can assert off the second bend for success.

Unprecedented (Trap 5) - 20:17 Romford

Heat six isn’t the strongest affair on paper and it may pay to side with UNPRECEDENTED (Trap 5, 20.17) to come out on top having improved considerably for the step up to 6 bends in recent months. Showing a fine attitude when landing back-to-back C&D contests last month, those exploits were backed up by the clock and, with her latest effort easily overlooked (met with plenty of crowding) we’re hopeful she can make full use of what looks a good make-up operating from the orange jacket.

Chelms Playa  (Trap 5) - 20:38 Romford

The Romford Friday Night 500 Maidens Final comes up at 20.38 and we’re siding with CHELMS PLAYA (Trap 5) to reverse a short-head defeat at the hands of re-opposing Granree Kid (Trap 3) and take the prize. Blazing the trail out in front 7 days ago, Chelms Playa found the latter getting a dream run on the rails on that occasion but the draw may not have been so kind to Granree Kid here, not least with the hound on his immediate inner expected to be taking a middle course on the run up. We’re hopeful Chelms Playa can steal a march from his berth in trap 5 and make every post a winning one.
