SALACRES BARLEY (Trap 2) - 18:55 Nottingham

The best bet on Nottingham’s evening card comes in the A1 at 18:55, with SALACRES BARLEY taken to regain the winning thread. An Open winner at the track last month, the selection wasn’t on his game in this grade last week, but he’s clearly a force at this level, and with a habitual-slow starter on his inside, Salacres Barley could well turn very handy.

SPARTA MASTER (Trap 4) - Romford 20:06

Romford stage an excellent all Open card, with SPARTA MASTER a strong fancy in the six-bend contest at 20:06. The selection has been mopping up over 714m at Crayford of late, but certainly isn’t short when it comes to speed for 575m and though he lacks an outing here, this tight circuit shouldn’t pose him any problems.

PASSING STRANGER (Trap 5) - Romford 21:26

PASSING STRANGER was an expensive loser for anyone taking the cramped odds on offer last week, but he’s capable of breaking much better than that, and in fact really ought to lead his rivals up in the 750m contest at 21:26 if our early sectionals are any guide. He really should make amends.
