ETCH A SKETCH hasn’t tasted success since getting his nose in front in a sprint contest in late September, but we know enough about him to suggest he’s higher class than his current grade of A4. Missed breaks have hindered his cause over C&D in recent weeks but he has hardly been disgraced on the clock and a better exit from the boxes can see Brian Thompson’s charge a different proposition this afternoon.

WALK ON THOMAS (Trap 6) - 18.44 Romford

Over at Romford WALK ON THOMAS boasts early pace as his most useful asset and on the back of a solid second in A1 company last time, he’s fancied to go in again back in open company. Phil Simmond’s charge is expected to turn front rank this evening and can turn the screw from the ¾ point.

PASSING STRANGER (Trap 6) - 22:13 Romford

Our final selection comes at 22.13 with PASSING STRANGER fancied to continue on what has been a bright start over six-bends. His trial over 575 metres ten days ago was solid enough on the clock and, to his credit he arrives on the back of a career-best display when scoring over 630 metres at Monmore. The even longer trip promises to eke out more improvement on that evidence and he can prove strongest on the dash for home.
