The Britannia so often proves the hottest ticket in town so far as 3-y-o handicaps go and, for all this year's running failed to throw up one who looks a nailed-on Group performer, the overall form looks as rock solid as ever, the winner a handicap debutant and 7 of the next 8 home arriving on the back of victories in such races, the odd one out being a runner-up who could easily have won had things worked out a little better on the day, an overall time that was the quickest since Roca Tumu came out on top in 2013 adding further substance; all bar the 4 drawn highest raced in one group down the centre, the quartet to race on the stand side up against it pretty much from the outset.
