Less runners than usual for the Norfolk Stakes and it lacked the depth of some years, particularly with both The Great War and Mukhmal failing to meet expectations on the day, although the winner's effort was still about up to scratch for the race; it was strongly run, Mukhmal, Mignolino and Snap Shots overdoing it at the head of affairs, the latter shaping quite well in lasting longest of that trio, whilst the second/third were both aided by the run of the race.
