Aidan O'Brien's 2-y-os hadn't made much impact earlier at the meeting, though market expectation was significantly stronger here than it had been for any of the other 5 races and that proved a true harbinger, though the winner, a fourth for the stable in the last 6 years, had to work to see off the challenge of the runner-up, the pair both smart prospects and likely to maintain the excellent recent record of the Chesham as a pointer to the future, the form well up to standard for the race, a positive view supported by the timefigure; the second and fifth raced more towards the far side than the rest.
