The first chance to assess the impact of the heavy rain from Wednesday into Thursday, and the positive ride on the eventual fifth did indeed ensure it was a proper test of stamina, though it was still some effort from the lightly-raced winner to make as much ground as he did past numerous progressive rivals, having turned in with only 2 behind.
