Perhaps not a vintage renewal form-wise of this fillies Group 2, only 2 of the 17 having previously won at this level, but the first 7 home were all 4-y-os, 4 of them having run a career best on one of their previous 2 starts, and therein lies the strength of the race, the first 2 in particular looking like horses with the potential to make their mark at the top level before the season is out; bar Indian Blessing the field raced in one group towards the centre of the track, those left nearest the stand side when they fanned out perhaps at something of a disadvantage, though it was probably more a case of the principals being down the centre and, while the pace took a few furlongs to pick up, it did so far enough out to be fair to all.
