A handful of the highest-rated fillies around had tried their hand in an open-looking Queen Anne the day before but this still looked a good renewal of this Group 2 and it produced a thoroughly impressive winner in Usherette; the pace was on the steady side for 1f or so from the stalls but the tempo soon picked up and made for a fairly even race, although coming from right out the back as Always Smile tried to probably wasn't ideal.
