A Coronation Stakes lacking the winners of the One Thousand Guineas and the Pouliches made for just an average renewal, fillies placed in those races taking first and third, the Irish Guineas winner Jet Setting not at her best; it was a messy race too, with at least 5 meeting trouble in running, though the winner scored with something in hand and might have prevailed anyway, the first 3 in general worth viewing positively; the principals all came from off the pace, though the pace seemed a sound one, rather than overly strong.
