The usual mixed bag for a one-off race, with horses of varied abilities over an extreme trip, but it's usually the case that class and not only stamina counts, and the principals this time are all useful at the least, Pique Sous a Grade 2 winner over hurdles in his time; aware of the marathon distance, they went only a steady pace for a long way, and plenty were still in contention entering the home straight, several down the field flattered by a literal reading of the form.
