This is rarely the strongest or deepest of the 2-y-o races at Royal Ascot and time may tell that's the case again, though it was won in good style by a complete unknown quantity, Richard Pankhurst well on top of the Irish pair, Toscanini and Dick Whittington, who came into the race as the standard-setters; it was a strongly-run affair that favoured those delivered later, the winner helped by how it developed whilst some down the field can have their efforts marked up, although it's unlikely any of the pacesetters would have been good enough to actually worry the principals.
