A competitive renewal of the Norfolk but not that strong in terms of pure form achievement on the day, the winner's figure lower than what has tended to win this race in recent years, though there is some potential still amongst all of the principals (5 of the first 6 were once-raced coming into this); the pace was strong and they raced in 2 groups, with stalls 8 to 12 staying central and the rest far side, but there was no bias either way.
