The spectre of Black Caviar loomed over this first Group 1 sprint of the week, but it stands very well on its own, high on quantity and quality, one of the best renewals of the King's Stand in recent times, won by one from the Far East, though supported by a couple of Europe's best; what did to some extent dilute the competition was the run of the race in that the main action was always concentrated to a handful middle-to-far-side, the focal point throughout, and Sole Power did very well as the only horse from a high draw/off the pace to get involved; Masamah was withdrawn (upset in stalls).
