Always a very strong race, won by subsequent 3-y-o Group 1 winners in 4 of the last 5 years, and this looks a good renewal, Dawn Approach showing form that meets the recent standards for a Coventry winner, with the first 3 pulling clear; they raced as one group middle-to-stand side (Baddilini soon joined the rest after briefly going alone far side) and it was a soundly-run affair that in general seemed a fair race, though perhaps a slight advantage was with those that raced more towards the near side of the pack, Cristoforo Colombo the only one of the principals that emerged from those that were more central throughout.
