A good renewal of the Hardwicke in terms of the winner's performance and, with a couple of reliable sorts filling the places, there's every reason to be positive about the race; quite testing conditions wouldn't have been ideal for some, however, and Poet and Passion For Gold had no chance after being kept to the inner down the far side, the rest racing on what appeared to be better ground in the centre on that part of the course.
