A good renewal, realising one of the race's objectives in sorting out the 3-y-os before the top mile events become all-aged, as, with Sea The Stars having strutted his stuff over further, this featured the best from the English and Irish Guineas, and the pair produced a thrilling finish, not to mention high-class form; Ballydoyle provided pacemakers, but, to the benefit of the race, they serviced all and not just Mastercraftsman by going a good gallop, Delegator getting his nose in front at one point.
