A field of largely unproven colts, but the best gathering of the year so far nevertheless, the 2008 renewal turning up a host of subsequent pattern scorers, and this one promising an even better one in the 6-length winner, Canford Cliffs recording an excellent time, breaking those who'd tried to race with him (the placed horses came from the back), several of them likely to establish themselves as useful or better another day.
