A thoroughly representative line-up, notwithstanding the absence of last year's winner Les Arcs, dual-Group 1 winner Reverence and the up-and-coming Sakhee's Secret, with umpteen high-class/very smart sprinters in opposition, including the 3 Australian-trained horses who'd finished in the first 4 in the King's Stand earlier in the week; with matters not run at the end-to-end gallop that might have been expected, it paid to be handy, the first 4 in touch throughout, producing a rousing finish; not for the first time at the meeting, those drawn low seemed at something of a disadvantage, the sixth home, Bygone Days, doing well that borne in mind, those in stalls 1, 2 and 5 not helping their cause by initially forming a little group towards the stand side.
