A splendid renewal of a race with a outstanding roll of honour, recent winners including Banks Hill, Russian Rhythm and Attaction, the field featuring no fewer than 8 individual Group winners, among those the winners of the English, Irish, French and German 1000 Guineas; however, in event the race was very one sided, Indian Ink fairly slamming her field, coming from the rear in a contest not run at an end-to-end gallop, and though one or 2 of her rivals got messed around as things built to a climax, notably the eventual fourth, her supremacy on the day couldn't be questioned.
