The six-year-old, whose sole success last season came in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at the Royal meeting, wasn't at his best, but showed enough to comfortably dispatch a smart field of six rivals.
He will now attempt to defend his crown at Ascot next month, and his trainer James Fanshawe is hopeful of a big run.

He said: "He seems really happy and I’m very relieved to win.
“We are on course for the Diamond Jubilee again. Hopefully the horse will do the talking for us this season.”
His jockey Tom Queally “His head’s in a very good place. And when his head is in a good place he relaxes.”
