O'BRIEN AND MOORE TAKE TOP TRAINER AND JOCKEY TITLESTate can't wait for rematch with Mali

Sands of Mali narrowly came out on top in what was a good renewal of the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock on Saturday, all out to hold on from the late-surging Invincible Army. This race has really developed in recent years and in the last two seasons it's helped lay the foundations for Group-1 winning campaigns for Quiet Reflection and Harry Angel.

Both Sands of Mali and Invincible Army will likely head to the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot next, a race in which James Tate is looking forward to.
Tate said: “He ran well and didn’t lose anything in defeat.
“He looked to be closing on the winner at the line and we’ll see whether we can turn the form around and what else turns up at Ascot.
“We were gutted to get beaten so narrowly, but now we’re looking forward to the rematch.”
Both Sands of Mali and Invincible Army are a top-priced 9/1 for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
