O'BRIEN AND MOORE TAKE TOP TRAINER AND JOCKEY TITLESRoyal Ascot 2015: Juvenile clues to be taken from National Stakes

Running in the same silks as last season’s winner Tiggy Wiggy is King of Rooks, and he's sure to be popular at Sandown on the back of a wide-margin win at Newbury. That victory came over six furlongs but King of Rooks displayed plenty of speed and should have few problems dropping back in trip, particularly at a stiff track such as Sandown. Versatile in regards to trip, King of Rooks could easily head for the Norfolk Stakes over five furlongs or the Coventry Stakes over six on the back of a good performance.
King of Rooks was actually beaten on debut by the reopposing Steady Pace, who looked a juvenile to follow when quickening clear to win in impressive fashion at Ascot. Steady Pace displayed a sharp turn of foot to settle matters on debut, and a good time backs up the excellent visual impression. He too will have a couple of options at Royal Ascot should he perform with credit in the National Stakes.
Other potential Royal Ascot candidates on show at Sandown on Thursday include Areen, a winner at York’s Dante meeting on debut, and Case Key, who looked a good prospect when winning comfortably on debut.
The betting for the Coventry Stakes is headed by the unbeaten Round Two, a horse hailing from the powerful Jim Bolger yard who won the race three seasons ago with Dawn Approach.
