Phoenix Ladies to have first Royal Ascot runner

Forever In Dreams will be a first runner in Europe for the Phoenix Ladies Syndicate after being purchased at the Goffs London Sale on Monday.
Winner of a Listed race at Haydock last time out for Aidan Fogarty, her new owners went to 430,000 guineas to secure a Royal Ascot runner.
The filly will run in Friday's Commonwealth Cup against Advertise, owned by Phoenix Thoroughbreds, setting up their own private battle.
Phoenix Ladies Syndicate Principal Pamela Cordina said: "It is a very exciting week. Not only for the Ladies but for the Phoenix team in general, it's a big week ahead.
"Taking on the boys with Forever In Dreams is a bit daunting, but we are always up for the challenge and we're very excited.
"For now we are just concentrating on the racing side of the industry and taking the Phoenix Ladies colours worldwide. Maybe later we might sell this filly to the boys, and they can breed from her, but for us we are not looking that far ahead.
"We enjoyed some success at the Dubai Carnival and we are very ambitious. I don't think we were prepared for the success we had at the Carnival - so that was a bonus."
Royal Ascot is another signiificant step, of course, in the global venture.
"We're looking to have five horses in each of Australia, Europe and America. We think that is the right strategy for us," Cordina added.
"At the moment all the ladies involved live in the Middle East. We also want to make our presence felt in Saudi Arabia. Now it is open for all the ladies to approach us.
"We have one of the members coming over to Ascot - but unfortunately it is exam time in Dubai at the moment, so we don't really want to disrupt family life.
"The boys are also involved in this filly, but because the boys already have horses running for them it was a consensus decision that the Ladies colours would get to be seen at Ascot."
