Cameo Star - Hamilton 19:30
Smart Stat: £94.55 - Richard Fahey's profit with horses running in first time headgear since the start of the 2013 season
Recent Ripon winner My Wagyu is respected, however Cameo Star makes plenty of appeal now fitted with cheekpieces for the first time, as his trainer does well when running horses in first time headgear. Cameo Star won a minor event at Beverley (by 1¼ lengths from Johni Boxit) in 2017 and was a creditable two lengths fourth to Eeh Bah Gum at Catterick last time, unsuited by the drop in trip. He’s back up in distance here and looks worth a bet.
Serious Ego - Punchestown 20:50
Smart Stat: £71.76 - Gordon Elliott's profit with bumper debutants since the start of the 2013/14 season
Gordon Elliott does well with his bumper newcomers, and Serious Ego looks a serious contender in an open-looking event. Picked up for €50,000 after getting off the mark in points at the second attempt, the five-year-old is closely related to the fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Sammy Black (2m-2¾m winner), and a half-brother to three winners on the Flat. He can see off fellow newcomers Argent Et Or and Doctor Duffy.
Goldslinger - Kempton 21:10
Smart Stat: £37.62 - Gary Moore's profit when having one runner at a flat meeting since the start of the 2013 season
Horse In Focus Dalasiri looks handicapped to go close, having shaped better than the bare result last time, however Gary Moore sends just one horses to Kempton tonight and he has a profitable record when choosing this tactic. Goldsinger is having his first start for Moore since leaving Dean Ivory, and he looks well handicapped having won off 12 lb higher back in 2015. Adam Kirby in the saddle is an added bonus.
