Smart Stat: 24% - Roger Varian's strike rate at KEMPTON PARK since the start of the 2019 season
New Endeavour opened his account on handicap debut over course and distance last season and he was well backed to do so, too, despite not having to improve on his previous form. He also shaped well on his return from eight months off at York three weeks ago, making a big move into contention but the lack of a recent outing told in the closing stages. New Endeavour seems sure to take a step forward now and he remains a horse to be positive about from this sort of mark.
Marksman Queen - 19:50 Kempton
Smart Stat: 21% - John & Thady Gosden's strike rate at KEMPTON PARK since the start of the 2019 season
Marksman Queen wasn't fancied in the betting ahead of her debut but that didn't stop her making a winning start over course and distance, overcoming inexperience and only doing enough once hitting the front. She beat another promising filly who won next time on that occasion and Marksman Queen didn't need to improve to follow up under a penalty after six months off at Southwell 30 days ago. However, she was plenty fresh enough in the first half of the race, and left the impression she has even more to offer, so she remains a horse to keep on side now handicapping from what looks a fair mark.
Smart Stat: 2 - James Fanshawe's number of winners in past 3 runnings
Spit Spot was well backed on her first start since leaving Chris Wall at Chelmsford in April but she ran below form. She again attracted support and fared much better when opening her account for this yard back at Chelmsford last time, well placed given how the race panned out but displaying a nice turn of foot to quicken into the lead and always doing enough in the closing stages. Her turn of foot will continue to stand her in good stead in these staying events while she should have no problem staying two miles.
