Smart Stat: £20.75 - Graeme McPherson's profit to a £1 level stake when having one runner at a Flat meeting 

Dawn Treader took a step back in the right direction on his first start for Graeme McPherson when finishing second to a well-handicapped sort over course and distance at the end of January, and probably found the run coming too soon when only fourth at Chelmsford five days later. He is much better judged on his previous run at this track, and will remain of interest from this sort of mark. 

Sky Defender - 16:45 Kempton

Smart Stat: 2 - Mark Johnston's number of winners in past 9 runnings

Mark Johnston has won two of the last four renewal of this handicap and Sky Defender appears to hold leading claims in this edition. He shaped well when finishing third to Assimilation at Lingfield in January and went down fighting to a progressive sort at Wolverhampton last time. Sky Defender had a couple of these in behind last time and there is no reason why they should reverse the form given he could once again get an easy lead. 

Laos - 18:20 Kempton

Smart Stat: 21% - Archie Watson's strike rate at KEMPTON PARK since the start of the 2017 season

This looks an above-average race of its type with some expensive, well-bred newcomers on show. Experience matters a lot in these events, though, and Laos showed a fair bit to work on when finishing fourth in a similar event over course and distance last time. He was strong in the market against the odds-on favourite, but displayed plenty of greenness, and looks the type who will come on a fair bit for the run. Archie Watson continues in form and Laos looks the one to side with.
