Smart Stat: 21% - William Haggas's strike rate at GOODWOOD since the start of the 2017 season
Kettle Hill gained reward for a string of good efforts when resuming winning ways over this trip at Sandown last time, not needing to improve but leaving the impression he would have been suited by a stronger gallop. He remains with the profile of a horse who could improve even further still, and is one to be interested in in this valuable contest.
Smart Stat: 3 - George Baker's number of winners in past 10 runnings
George Baker has a brilliant recent record in this race and he holds strong claims again with Lockdown, who won the first race of his career at Kempton when last seen in June. That was just his second start for Baker, and he seemingly appreciated the fitting of a hood (retained), always travelling well and readily stretching clear of his rivals. He has a smart pedigree, and rates the type that could go on improving for a while yet.
Smart Stat: 23% - James Doyle's strike rate at KEMPTON PARK
Golden Warrior looked a promising colt when opening his account at Nottingham last month, but probably found the step up to listed company coming too soon when below form at Ripon last time. He should be much more comfortable now back down in grade, though, and looks the one to beat with James Doyle taking over in the saddle.
