Marine Lake - 14:15 Pontefract
Smart Stat: 2 - Richard Fahey's number of winners in past 10 runnings
This looks competitive for the grade, but Marine Lake is very much the type to progress further now handicapping, and she looks the one to side with. She has improved with each start so far this season, doing all of her best work at the finish when hitting the frame over course and distance last time, and she should find that experience aiding her development further. An opening mark of 67 is workable and she represents a yard with a good record in the race.
Smart Stat: 26% - Roger Varian's strike rate at WOLVERHAMPTON since the start of the 2018 season
Zenga was strong in the betting for her debut but left the impression she was in need of the experience and she duly improved for that outing when proving more competitive at Goodwood last time. She was once again strong in the market but she conceded first run on the winner who was given an easy enough time of things out in front. Zenga is bred to appreciate this longer trip now and she remains a horse to be positive about.
Smart Stat: £17.34 - Simon & Ed Crisford's profit to a £1 level stake when having one runner at a Flat meeting
Al Agaila is bred to be smart - out of a Balachine Stakes winner - and she shaped with plenty of promise on debut in a first-time tongue tie at Newbury last month, travelling well and keeping on in the closing stages. The steady pace meant that they finished in a heap, but that looked a good race on paper, and she can be expected to take a big step forward now.
