Smart Stat: 21% - Jack Mitchell's strike rate at WOLVERHAMPTON
Electric Love landed back-to-back handicaps over five furlongs at Yarmouth last year and made an encouraging return at Epsom in April. She hasn't progressed as expected since but returned to form fitted with first-time cheekpieces when finishing third back at Yarmouth last month. She is now just 3 lb higher than her last winning mark now and is used to competing in stronger handicaps than this, so she will remain of interest breaking from the plum draw.
Smart Stat: £28.02 - Paul & Oliver Cole's profit to a £1 level stake when having one runner at a Flat meeting
Grand Cru Gaga has improved with each start so far, opening her account in decisive fashion at Ffos Las last month despite still showing signs of inexperience. That wasn't the strongest maiden but it was hard not to be impressed by the manner of her victory, and an opening mark of 75 looks perfectly fair. There may be even more to come from her now and she has already shown form on an artificial surface, so another bold bid is expected.
Smart Stat: 25% - Simon & Ed Crisford's strike rate with handicap debutants
Anglesey Abbey attracted support on his debut over the extended mile at this course in December and showed ability, but he failed to build on that promise on his next two starts, though he wasn't unduly punished when last seen over a mile in February. It would be no surprise were he to show much improved form now making his handicap debut after eight months off, particularly now moving back up in trip for a yard that know the time of day.
