Persian Phoenix - 17:20 Chelmsford

Smart Stat: 24% - Oisin Murphy's strike rate at CHELMSFORD CITY 

Persian Phoenix is bred more for longer trips, but she shaped well enough on her debut over this distance at Redcar last month, breaking away well enough and having enough speed to sit handy in the first half of the race. She was produced to make her challenge around two furlongs out but she faded in the final furlong as if the run was needed. She seems sure to progress for that initial experience and the booking of Oisin Murphy has to be seen as a positive. 

Red Danielle - 18:20 Chelmsford

Smart Stat: 23% - Roger Varian's strike rate at CHELMSFORD CITY since the start of the 2019 season 

Red Danielle was strong in the market and shaped with plenty of promise on her debut at Goodwood last month, running a little too keenly in the early stages but travelling into contention powerfully and looking the likeliest winner (she traded at 1.04 in-running on Betfair). The energy that she expended early on didn't help her in the closing stages, unable to go past the tenacious winner, but Red Danielle is open to significant improvement now. She already sets a healthy standard on form and she should take plenty of beating. 

White Wolf - 20:20 Chelmsford

Smart Stat: 23% - Saeed bin Suroor's strike rate at CHELMSFORD CITY since the start of the 2019 season 

Saeed bin Suroor is among the winners at present and White Wolf wasn't disgraced back on British soil in first-time cheekpieces at York last time. He missed the break and raced off the pace as a result, while he also met some trouble in-running three furlongs out. However, White Wolf wasn't given a hard time once his chance had gone, and he is sure to reap the benefit of that now. He was only narrowly beaten from this mark in a handicap at Meydan earlier in the year and he is well worth another chance to prove himself well handicapped.
