First Figaro hasn't been seen since finishing runner-up at Newbury in April but the absence is unlikely to be an issue given trainer Venetia Williams' excellent record with chasers running after a break. It's also worth noting that First Figaro defied an absence of almost a year when winning on his reappearance last March.

Smart Stat: 34% - Willie Mullins' strike rate at Cork since the start of the 2018/19 season

Even by Willie Mullins' excellent record at 34% strike rate at Cork is impressive (he tends to operate around the 26% mark). Ireland's champion trainer will be hoping to enhance that strike rate with Pure Notions, who makes her debut in the mares' bumper for female riders. Pure Notions is a half-sister to three winners and is out of Princesse D'Anjou who was a very smart chaser and notably won the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris.

Tintagel Queen - 17:25 Chepstow

Smart Stat: 30% - Olly Murphy's strike rate in spring

This is often a productive time of the year for Olly Murphy, whose 30% strike rate in spring compares extremely favourably to his overall record around the 17% mark. Murphy has his string in excellent order at present - seven of his last 15 runners have won - and he will be hoping Tintagel Queen can add another winner to his tally. Tintagel Queen is a sister to a couple of winners, including the useful hurdler Gardens of Babylon, and she offered some encouragement when fifth on her bumper debut at Market Rasen on Boxing Day.
