Dash of Blue defied a 21-month absence to make a winning start over fences at Southwell three weeks ago and a subsequent 4 lb rise for that success looks lenient. He impressed with how accurately he jumped on that occasion, and was always holding off the fast-finishing runner-up. He has been given time to get over that and, given his trainer has a good record in this race, he may have been aimed at this since.

Lucky Bounce hasn't really showed much over hurdles or on the Flat so far in his career, but he represents a shrewd yard who have targeted this race in recent years, and has attracted support in the betting. He was last seen running over an inadequate six furlongs on the Flat at Redcar in October, but he will be much more at home now trying this much longer trip back over hurdles given his best form came over two and a half miles in this sphere. Lucky Bounce could potentially prove this mark all wrong. 

Idee Fixee - 17:30 Chelmsford

Idee Fixee has bumped into some nice types in three starts so far, arguably running his best race to date when pulling clear of the remainder with a useful sort at Lingfield last time. He was very strong in the betting on that occasion and showed enough to suggest he won't be long until winning, and this mark may well underestimate him now handicapping. A first-time tongue tie may also help eke out more and he is less-exposed than most.
