Smart Stat: 21% - Olly Murphy's strike rate with chasers running between 19f and up to 3m
The Wolf was fairly useful over hurdles, but judging on his chasing debut at Chepstow last month, he promises to make up into a better chaser. His jumping was very assured and he made a winning start in this sphere with a bit in hand, shaken up before the third-last but staying on well and asserting on the run-in. L'Air du Vent finished third to The Wolf that day, but the selection is fancied to uphold the form under a penalty, given he seems sure to improve for that experience.
Smart Stat: 20% - Philip Hobbs's strike rate at EXETER since the start of the 2015/16 season
From The Heart was fitter for his reappearance when winning at Chepstow last month, and progressed again, proving better than ever when following up at Taunton last time, again having plenty of use made of him and showing a willing attitude. From The Heart has been raised 7 lb in the weights since, putting him up to a career-high mark, but the feeling is he has more to offer, and is fancied to complete a hat-trick for a yard that do well at this track.
Smart Stat: 27% - Dr Richard Newland's strike rate with hurdlers running between 2m2f and up to 2m6f
The Darley Lama remains a maiden, but there was good market support for him on debut for Dr Richard Newland at Plumpton earlier this month, having dropped to a career-low mark, and he left the impression he could be up to winning races from this sort of mark. He has moved to a yard that do very well with new recruits, and the market support last time speaks volumes, so he is well worth another chance.
