Smart Stat: £9.82 - Sandy Thomson's profit with only one runner on the card (chases) since the start of the 2012/13 season
Seeyouatmidnight needed to run at Newbury last time in order to qualify for this race and was not disgraced over an insufficient trip, finishing third having perhaps done too much too soon. He is entitled to improve for that first start in 12 months and, having proved his suitability for this kind of test when third in the 2016 Scottish Grand National, Sandy Thomson's charge could be the way to go from what looks a fair mark, with the testing conditions of no concern to him, too.
Smart Stat: £68.81 - Jennie Candlish's profit when having one runner at a flat meeting since the start of the 2013 season
Sunshineandbubbles won twice over a shorter trip here last month and again ran well when a nose second last time, leading early in the straight but headed on the post. She is still getting better on that evidence and, with Rossa Ryan taking a valuable 5 lb off her back this evening, Sunshineandbubbles looks sure to give another good account and is fancied to resume winning ways for the Jennie Candlish yard that has won with three of its last four runners on the all-weather.
Smart Stat: £48.50 - Dean Ivory's profit with favourites since the start of the 2013 season
Penniesfromheaven is speedily bred (by Lethal Force and out of a five-furlong winner at two) and produced an encouraging first effort when third at Lingfield two weeks ago, running green under pressure before making late headway to be beaten just two lengths. She looks sure to improve plenty with that initial experience under her belt and should take all the beating for the Franny Norton/Dean Ivory combination, with the newcomers Cloud Seeding and Sesame feared most.
