Smart Stat: 29% - Charlie Appleby's strike rate at NEWMARKET (ROWLEY) since the start of the 2017 season
Coroebus is the second foal out of a half-sister to Thunder Snow, and he very much looked the part when making a convincing winning debut over a mile on the July Course last month. He was strong in the market on that occasion, so clearly connections were expected a big performance, and he more than delivered, easily putting aside one with previous experience and the pair pulled well clear of the remainder. That form is working out, too, and he could have any amount of improvement in him now, so he shouldn’t be underestimated.
Smart Stat: 21% - G. M. Lyons's strike rate with sprinters
Sacred Bridge has done nothing but progress at a rate of knots this year, winning all four of her starts and confirming herself a smart filly with a commanding win in the Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh last time. She justified good support in impressive fashion that day, leading on the bridle inside the last two furlongs and readily putting the race to bed when asked. This has been her target ever since and she looks a filly out of the top drawer, so commands maximum respect.
Smart Stat: 3 - Aidan O'Brien's number of winners in past 10 runnings
Aidan O'Brien isn't a trainer to ignore in the Middle Park Stakes and, while the market doesn't appear to want HMS Endeavour, his profile is an attractive one and it would be folly to ignore his chances. Admittedly, he has a fair bit to find on form, but he was well backed at Dundalk last time and he still looked rough around the edges, ultimately winning with more in hand than the official margin suggests. This is a big step up, but he is bred for it, and could improve further for this longer trip.
