Smart Stat: 23% - Silvestre De Sousa's strike rate at SANDOWN PARK
Fantasy Keeper hasn’t stood much racing for a five-year-old, but showed the benefit of his reappearance when finishing a neck second to a thriving type at Goodwood last time. He was short of room over a furlong out on that occasion, having to switch and finishing strongly. If he is able to back that effort up, he is on a good mark, and can go well under Silverstre De Sousa who has a good strike rate at this course.
Smart Stat: 20% - Owen Burrows's strike rate in mid season
Sawwaah won two times last season, including a useful handicap over this trip at Newmarket, and he shaped well after six months off at that course last time, when very strong in the market. He didn’t have any excuses on the day, but that was a hot race, and it suggests that connections clearly feel he is on a workable mark. Owen Burrows has a good strike rate at this time of the season, and Sawwaah has the scope to progress further breaking from a good draw in stall 4.
Smart Stat: 22% - John Gosden's strike rate at SANDOWN PARK since the start of the 2015 season
New King won a minor event at Wolverhampton on his final start last season and has caught the eye on both of his starts this year, the latest on handicap debut at Sandown. That was his turf debut, and he deserved extra credit given how the race panned out, finishing with running left after being caught further back than ideal. That race is working out well, and New King is up to winning races from this mark, so should be backed accordingly.
