Smart Stat: 3 - Nicky Henderson's number of winners in past 10 runnings
This is a cracking renewal of the Reynoldstown and a case can be made for plenty, but Nicky Henderson has a good record in the race, and Pym has done little wrong since switched to fences this season. He was very impressive when powering away from another promising sort at Cheltenham last time, jumping soundly in the main and suited by the emphasis on stamina, and he should have ideal conditions today.
Smart Stat: 32% - Nicky Henderson's strike rate in mid-season
Welsh Saint has made a promising start over hurdles, well suited by heavy ground when opening his account in a maiden at Warwick in December, and shaping with promise when third in a listed novice at Cheltenham last time. He firmly left the impression that he would be suited by the step up to three miles on that occasion, and he looks fairly treated from an opening mark of 134 now sent handicapping.
Smart Stat: 20% - Joe Fanning's strike rate at LINGFIELD PARK
Bad Attitude had seemingly been brought along with handicaps in mind, and duly showed improved form on his debut in that sphere when runner-up over a mile and a quarter at Kempton earlier this week. He wasn’t unduly punished by his inexperienced rider (who put up 2 lb overweight) in the closing stages when his chance had gone, and he looks up to winning race at this level. Joe Fanning, who rides this course well, takes over in the saddle now and he is worth chancing again.
