Shareef Shareef - 14:45 Lingfield
Smart Stat: 22% - Mark Johnston's strike rate at Lingfield since the start of the 2017 season
Shareef Shareef appeals as a likely newcomer on paper, being by Galileo Gold and a half-brother to a couple of useful two-year-old winners. Those with the benefit of previous experience in this novice event set just a fair standard, too, so it will be interesting to see whether the market speaks in favour of Shareef Shareef, who represents the Mark Johnston yard which has enjoyed plenty of success at Lingfield in recent seasons.
Yagan - 15:50 Lingfield
Smart Stat: 24% - Sir Mark Prescott Bt's strike rate in mid season
Yagan improved again to complete a hat-trick at this course last week, making all to land the spoils by half a length. He appeared to have more in hand than the official winning margin would suggest, always doing just enough to hold off the challenge of the runner-up, with the first two pulling clear of the rest. He remains open to more improvement, especially now stepping up further in trip, so a 6 lb penalty is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from winning again for his red-hot yard (eight winners from last 11 runners).
Strawberry Jack - 20:00 Windsor
Smart Stat: 20% - Andrea Atzeni's strike rate at Windsor
Strawberry Jack resumed winning ways on his penultimate start at Bath and then ran to a similar level when beaten less than two lengths into third at the same course 10 days ago. He was behind Buckingham on the last occasion but is weighted to reverse the placings this time, meeting that rival on 3 lb better terms. Strawberry Jack has won from higher marks than this in the past, too, so he looks to have plenty in his favour with Andrea Atzeni taking over in the saddle at a track he rides particularly well.
