Smart Stat: 24% - Nicky Henderson's strike rate in early-season
Dusart likely has other targets over fences in the coming months, but he may be able to make a winning reappearance back over hurdles on his handicap debut in this sphere. He developed into a very smart chaser last season, his only defeat coming in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, and he beat a very progressive rival from a mark of 147 at Ayr on his final start. Dusart also looked very promising as a novice hurdler and he looks very interesting on his return to action.
Smart Stat: £38.57 - Grant Tuer's profit to a £1 level stake with horses running after a break
This isn't a strong race by any means and it looks an excellent opportunity for Westmorian to open his account. He showed ability on the all-weather last season and ran a cracker when only beaten two lengths in a nursery at York in August which worked out particularly well. He may have been unsuited by easier ground when disappointing on his final start and is well worth another chance on his return from a break, especially for a yard who are profitable with horses returning from a break.
Smart Stat: 2 - G. M. Lyons's number of winners in past 10 runnings
Ger Lyons has a good record in this race and it may be worth chancing Monophonic to improve past the standard setters with that in mind. She was strong enough in the betting but left the impression she was in need of the experience on her debut and duly showed improved form when runner-up dropped into claiming company over course and distance last time. The winner of that race has run respectably since and there may be more to come from Monophonic, while this doesn't look the strongest race of its type, either.
